The Davis Center at the Harlem Meer is one of the most significant milestones in Central Park's long and storied history, and is a premiere destination for year-round recreation. Working together with the Central Park Conservancy to fund this $160 million project, we are pleased to present this state-of-the-art facility to the public.

Spring & Fall: The Harlem Oval

The Harlem Oval is a public green in the spring fand fall months, offering quiet space and free and low-cost turf programming for all ages.

  • Morning meditation and yoga – Start your day with intention.
  • Lawn games and open play – Have fun with cornhole, bingo, and more.
  • Dance and movement classes – From Funkaerobics to hip-hop, get moving your way.
  • Davis Center tour – Explore the brand-new facility and its connection to the Central Park on a free 60-minute tour.
  • Special events – Delight in one-time-only pop-ups and surprises.

Summer: The Gottesman Pool

The Gottesman Pool is a public pool operated by NYC Parks each summer from late June until early September. Outdoor pool hours are from 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. daily, with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Don't miss your chance to cool off at one of our most picturesque outdoor pools!

Winter: Ice Rink at the Davis Center

As winter arrives, the rink at the Davis Center brings the magic of ice skating back to Central Park’s north end. Whether you're a seasoned skater or stepping onto the ice for the first time, the Central Park Conservancy's new rink has something for everyone, from skating lessons to community hockey and special events. The ice rink operates from late October through March.
