Park and Facility Closures
Anticipated Completion: 06/30/2025
Due to a mechanical issue, the front entrance of the Kwame Ture Recreation Center is temporarily out of service. Please use the back entrance to access the facility until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Pelham Bay Nature Center is currently closed to the public.
The Pavilion at Orchard Beach is currently closed to the public.

St. Mary's Recreation Center Pool
The indoor pool at St. Mary's Recreation Center is closed while the center is undergoing reconstruction.
Brownsville Recreation Center Pool
The indoor pool is closed at this location.
Brownsville Recreation Center is open with limited access due to construction. The Golden Age side of the building is open, while the main side of the building is closed. There will be no access to the indoor pool and gymnasium at this time.
Commodore Barry Wading Pool is currently closed, we apologize for the inconvenience. We expect this condition to be resolved by 7/6/2025 at 19:00.

Metropolitan Recreation Center
Metropolitan Recreation Center is temporarily closed due to a mechanical issue which has resulted in poor dehumidification and air circulation. Repairs are being made to improve air circulation before we can reopen to the public.
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City. Ecology Park is only open at certain times of year when Parks staff are present in order to protect this unique landscape. Want to visit? Alfred E. Smith Recreation Center
Beginning Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 22, 2025, the Alfred E. Smith Recreation Center will be closed for NYC Parks Summer Camp operations from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Recreation Center members will have access to the center during the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday – Friday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This center will reopen for full access to members and the public on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Beginning Saturday, June 21, 2025 the indoor pool at Asser Levy Recreation Center will be closed for the duration of summer through mid-September. We encourage all members to use the Asser Levy Outdoor Pool during this time.
The Brian Watkins Tennis Center at East River Park is currently closed as part of the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project.
John V. Lindsay East River Park
The section of East River Park south of Stanton Street is temporarily closed due to construction as part of the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project, which will protect Lower East Side residents and waterfront parks from coastal storms and sea level rise. East River Park remains open north of Stanton Street. For access to open park areas, use entrances at E. Houston Street, 6th St Bridge, or 10th St Bridge. Chelsea Recreation Center Pool
Beginning Monday, June 23, 2025 the indoor pool at Chelsea Recreation Center will have reduced hours for the duration of the summer. The summer hours will be Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, Closed.

Constance Baker Motley Recreation Center

Beginning Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 22, 2025, the gymnasium, dance room, and track at the Constance Baker Motley Recreation Center will be closed for NYC Parks Summer Camp operations from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Recreation Center members will have access to center and these areas during the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The gymnasium, dance room, and track will reopen to members and the public on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Constance Baker Motley Recreation Center
Beginning Monday, June 23, 2025 the indoor pool at Constance Baker Motley Recreation Center will have reduced hours for the duration of this summer.
The east end of Corlears Hook Park is closed due to construction of the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project. A temporary pedestrian bridge provides access between the park and the Corlears Hook Ferry Terminal in John V. Lindsay East River Park. Please also see the construction advisory for John V. Gertrude Ederle Recreation Center

J. Hood Wright Recreation Center
Beginning Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 22, 2025, J. Hood Wright Recreation Center will be closed for NYC Parks Summer Camp operations from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. The center will reopen for full access to members and the public on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
As an NYC Parks Recreation Center Member, you’re able to access several other centers. Highbridge Recreation Center is the closest site.The East Dock at Muscota Marsh is temporarily closed for repairs. As an alternative, please use the boat launch at Inwood Hill Park or at Sherman Creek.
The 79th Street Boat Basin marina is currently closed. No vessel dockage, moorage, anchorage or launch services are available. The marina will be dredged and reconstructed to modern codes and standards. The marina is anticipated to reopen in 2028. Related inquiries may be sent to boatbasin@parks.nyc.gov

Roger Morris Park will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Morris-Jumel Mansion is open Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Portions of The Battery, including the Battery Wharf, Gardens of Remembrance, and portions of the Oval Lawn are closed for the Battery Coastal Resilience Project. This project will rebuild and elevate the Battery wharf to reduce risk from rising seas and coastal storms, while preserving the character of the park. Due to construction on the Tide Gate Bridge, located on Meridian Road within Flushing Meadows Corona Park, vehicular traffic will not be allowed to cross the bridge in either direction. Please follow posted detour signs around Meridian Road and plan for additional travel time. Pedestrian traffic will still be permitted to cross the bridge.
Flushing Meadows Corona Park Aquatics Center & Ice Rink
Flushing Meadows Corona Park Aquatics Center is temporarily closed due to a mechanical issue which has resulted in poor dehumidification and air circulation. We are working to address the issue to reopen the pool as quickly as possible.

Due to a major planned reconstruction project, Pier 1 at the World's Fair Marina is currently closed. There is presently no transient dockage nor passenger pick-ups and drop-offs allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back with the World's Fair Marina in the future for updates.
Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center

The dog run at Murray Playground is closed to the public until further notice. Dog owners are encouraged to visit the nearest dog run, located at Gantry Plaza State Park.
The following beach sections are open for swimming: Beach 10 - Beach 12, Beach 15 - Beach 18, Beach 32 - Beach 36, Beach 57, Beach 59, Beach 77 - Beach 79, Beach 83 - Beach 85, Beach 115 - Beach 119, Beach 121 - Beach 124, and Beach 135 - Beach 144. All other sections are closed to swimming.
Beach 37 - Beach 56 is currently closed for swimming to protect bird nesting habitat.
Beach 145 - Beach 149 is closed for swimming as a safety precaution.
Beach 19 - Beach 31 and Beach 71 - Beach 74 are closed for swimming as a safety precaution.
The indoor pool and men's locker room at Roy Wilkins Recreation Center is temporarily closed due to a mechanical issue which has resulted in poor dehumidification and air circulation. The rest of the recreation center will remain open as we work to safely reopen the pool once repairs are completed.
