Make our city your outdoor classroom with the help of the Urban Park Rangers and The Natural Classroom: People, Place, and Parks!  School groups can meet with a park ranger to learn about wildlife, history, geology, and ecosystems through hands-on activities in the classroom or parks!

Schedule a tour of the world's most diverse green roof! For more than a decade, we've been growing fruits, veggies, herbs, and flowers on a green roof at Randall's Island! Comprising 40 different examples of green roof design, our Five Boro Green Roof serves as a model for sustainable design and a living example of climate action.

At our obstacle course, kids can challenge each other to learn problem-solving and how to work as a team. The course features a zip line, climbing wall, trust fall stations, and more! Programs are offered May-November to kids ages 8 and older.

Zoos and Aquariums

NYC Parks owns one aquarium and four zoos throughout the city. These facilities are managed and administered by the Wildlife Conservation Society. Please reach out to WCS to schedule seasonal and educational programming.
